In looking at my goal of improving communication, I wanted to create a survey for parents to provide feedback. The past few weeks I have been pondering what questions to ask and what information I want to collect. I put together a few questions using surveymonkey.com that I hope to send out to parents in the coming week. I am hoping most of my families will take part in the survey so I have feedback from them in order to improve my communication.
I have received positive feedback from many parents already this year but in looking back at it, I truly wonder how they will perceive how informed they were with their child's progress. I plan on sending out the survey electronically to all of my parents but also sending out a paper version for those families that do not communicate via e-mail.
I used the following questions on the survey to help me evaluate how parents perceived communication this past school year.
Have you been receiving the monthly progress reports?
Have you found the progress reports to be beneficial?
Have you used the class website this school year?
How often do you access the class website?
What method of communication do you prefer?
How would you rank overall communication this year?
How informed overall do you feel about your child's progress this school year?
In what way(s) can I better improve the progress report format or communication with parents?
