A few weeks ago, I sat down with each student and had them revisit their hope and dream from the beginning of the school year. Some students wanted to keep their hope and dream while others wanted to establish a new one. I created mini school buses for each student and I then recorded his/her new vision for the remainder of the school year on the mini bus. Each student had it taped on his/her desk as a daily reminder of what to work towards. I hope they take the time to read it a few times each week. My goal is to have students check in at least once a week with their vision/goal in hopes of it being a driving force for them to work hard to achieve their goals.
As I reflect, I wonder if every student truly understands the reasoning for the school bus.
