A Positive Outlook

After the first two days of school, I am excited about the school year. One of my goals is to focus on my teacher language and make it positive with students and staff. During those first two days, I have found myself slowing down and thinking about my language in making sure it is positive. Especially when we are building routines and modeling many things, positive teacher language is critical.
I am also hoping to have a much more positive outlook with my attitude this year. I am currently reading The No Complaining Rule by Jon Gordon and just see the need to enforce a no complaining rule in my classroom and school. For some reason, last year was one of the most negative years I have been a part of in education. Many people were negative including myself. I am going to attempt to focus on the positives and see all the positives in my students. As a result, I believe this will help my classroom community in hopes of making it a great year. I am excited for the upcoming week as I will have the opportunity to continue to be positive and make a difference.
