The past few years I have been trying to incorporate more technology into the classroom. I am continuing to grow my knowledge and understanding with an activ board (Promethean) in the classroom. Last year I created spelling, language arts, and math flip charts that students could work on independently or in small groups during work time. I am hoping to create more flip charts that could be used to enhance student achievement in the classroom.
In addition the the activ board, I have currently been using a document camera. I really enjoy this aspect of technology as I use it a number of ways for students to see things in the classroom. It is used for students to share things visually with the class, large group read aloud, games, and a variety of other things.
This coming school year my classroom will receive an student computer station fr students to work on various tasks with technology. One of those tasks will be working with Compass Learning which is a self paced software that allows students to work to improve various subject areas, I will be using it mainly for math. I am excited to dive into this software and understand more in how it can be used to improve achievement with students.
I also would like to incorporate a few iPod touches with my students in small group work time. With these iPods, students would work on mainly math and reading apps to improve various skills. I am hoping to have the chance to be able to use these pieces in the coming school year.
